About the project

This business card project aimed to drive traffic to Sheezycitie's active webcomic on Webtoon from their in-person sales. I wanted to focus on a design that leaned on the main character's most identifiable traits to drive awareness and interest to the story. The result is a bold, text-minimal card that pulls them in with direct panels from the comic and points them quickly to the webtoons platform via QR Code.

Project Details

This project centered around mascot-ifying Sheezycitie's key character in their webcomic, ENDeviant. Built in Adobe Illustrator, I leaned on the most striking and memorable panels of the character to achieve this goal. We wanted to emphasize the characters unique physical features (big white eyes and smile) and their personality (optimistic and adventurous). The need to funnel Sheezycitie's constomer base from convention customer to webtoon reader was most important so I prioritized a layout that could support a QR Code.

“Stella has an ability to harmonize multiple concepts into one cohesive visual message like no other. Her marketing design skills set me a part from competing artists at conventions and contributed to a real boost in my sales.”

What I Did

  1. I researched the most appropriate vendor to fit the clients business card material requirements, and set up the business card artwork to meet those specifications.

  2. I converted the client's webcomic link into a trackable QR Code.

  3. I focused on key details that the client's audiences were already familiar with (the story character's big white eyes and smile; the font of the artists art tag on all of their pieces; the client's H&M-red-white-black aesthetic)

  4. I designed an accompanying discount card to support the client's secondary goal of increasing online sticker sales.
